Katie grew up in rural Northern New York state. She received a bachelors degree in American studies from Hamilton College with the intention of pursuing women’s advocacy law. Katie’s path changed when she discovered midwifery during a semester abroad in Holland. Katie attended Oregon Health Sciences University for both her undergraduate nursing degree and Master’s in Nurse-Midwifery.
Katie practiced as a midwife in Portland for nine years prior to relocating to Bend. She is honored to care for women as their lives evolve. Katie loves forming longstanding relationships and believes deeply women should feel comfortable and respected throughout gynecological, pregnancy, and labor care. Katie also feels a good laugh here and there makes it all a little easier. Katie is passionate about trauma-informed care, a sex-positive approach, exceptionally gentle exams, supporting teenagers, and helping women find a birth control they love.
You will run into Katie skiing, at the book shop, on mountain bikes, and laughing with friends. She’ll likely be with her husband, toddler son, school-aged daughter, or old mutt Lola.
